The OTL can help you as you create and update your teaching portfolio. We offer teaching portfolio workshops during the Fall and Winter semesters. The first teaching portfolio workshop: 1) describes the teaching portfolio requirements at WSU, 2) starts you on the development of your teaching philosophy statement and portfolio, and 3) provides you an opportunity to review teaching portfolios from WSU and elsewhere. In the second teaching portfolio workshop the participants and the OTL Director review the participants’ teaching portfolios and offer suggestions.

See the OTL events calendar for schedule of upcoming portfolio workshops.

If you want to get started without attending a workshop, first review your college or school policy on teaching portfolios (see chart to the right). Check with your department chair for any additional advice regarding your portfolio development.

The OTL’s internal library includes several excellent references with detailed information about the development of teaching portfolios (see the list to the right). You may reference them at any time the OTL is open.
