Beyond the individual classroom, there are program and university-wide issues that help ensure high quality education for WSU students. WSU academic procedures, programming information, and links to related curriculum are provided below.
Academic Program Review Process.
All academic
programs at WSU are thoroughly reviewed on a regular basis. Details and

Accreditation 2007.
All universities are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. A thorough review for continuance of the accreditation is required every ten years. A steering committee and a Web site have been set up in preparation of the visit.
Many of the WSU departments, programs or colleges also are accredited by an outside accrediting body. Annually a summary of all WSU accreditations are compiled and reported to the Board of Governors. The most recent report can be viewed here..

All undergraduate
WSU students must meet basic competency requirements in the following areas:
composition, computer competency, computer proficiency, computer literacy, critical and analytic thinking, English proficiency,
mathematics, oral communications, and written communication. Descriptions

In addition,
WSU students are required to take courses across the disciplines. Undergraduate
students are required to take courses in the following areas: American
Society and Institutions, Foreign Culture, Historical Studies, Humanities,
Life Sciences, Natural Science, Philosophy
and Letters, Physical Sciences, Social Sciences, and Visual and Performing

Grading Information for Faculty.
Grading information for faculty has been summarized at the following Web site: http://faculty.wayne.edu/grading. The site includes information about final grades, early assessment grades, student records, and support. Information abut how to enter the grades electronically in Pipeline is also available from this Web site.
