OTL hosts a variety of teaching-related presentations each semester by WSU faculty as well as by invited guests. See our calendar for specific dates and times that speakers are scheduled to present. The Office for Teaching and Learning encourages WSU faculty to present on their uses of technology in teaching as well as on instructional applications in the classroom. If you would like to give a presentation for your colleagues, please call 577-6448, and we will be happy to arrange a speaking date for you.
During the year the OTL may provide the opportunity for faculty to engage in a live teleconference, usually sponsored by PBS. Topics selected are varied; past broadcasts include Intellectual Property in Online Education, Using Information Technology in a Traditional Classroom, Copyright Issues Online, Cheating and Plagiarism, and Assessment and Evaluation of Distance Learners. Please check the OTL calendar for listings of current teleconferences being offered.
All teleconferences are videotaped, and the tapes are available for viewing at the OTL Library. These videos are non-circulating, and you may stop by the OTL anytime to view them. Some teleconferences are also available as streaming video after the conference date. Special arrangements can be made to show the videotapes within your department or you may arrange to bring a group to the OTL and view videos in a TRC conference room. For information or to arrange a private showing, please call 313.577.1980 or e-mail otl@wayne.edu
