1992.  
  WSU Strategic Plan Recommends Establishment of OTL.
1993.  
   
1994.  
  Final Report of the Task Force to establish a Center for Teaching and Learning.
1995.  
WSU Academic Senate Committee Report on Student Evaluation of Teaching.
  Final Report on the Task Force on the Evaluation of Teaching (Teaching Portfolios recommended).
1996.  

 

OTL OPENS.
Founding Director Lynda Milne.
1997.  
  Teaching Portfolios required of full-time WSU faculty (in AAUP-AFT 1996-1999 contract, Article XXIX).
- College teaching portfolio policies required by February 1997.
  OTL helps establish WSU TLTR.
  OTL launches its first Web site.
1998.  
  Technology in Learning Series begins: WSU faculty presentations at the OTL.
  OTL hosts first live teleconference.
  Omnibus Awards available to help provide technology and technology solutions for WSU students.

1999.

 

WSU adopts CourseInfo as WSU course management system as a result of a study conducted by TLTR and OTL.
  OTL Advisory Board is chartered as an official university committee.

OTL partners with Graduate School for annual GTA Orientation held on WSU campus early fall.
  OTL provides first New Faculty Luncheon.
  OTL initiates On-the-Road (OTR) workshops.
  OTL’s Teaching Matters newsletter for WSU faculty begin.
2000.  
  TLTR hosts first annual conference at WSU campus.
2001.  
  OTL’s Xtreme! Week begins in May.
  CourseInfo upgrades to Blackboard as WSU course management system.
  OTL spearheads WSU co-sponsorship of Lilly - North Conference and supports WSU participation ..
  GTA Certificate of Development awarded to GTAs who complete Orientation.
2002.  
  Provost sponsors Summer Institute for WSU faculty.
- OTL collaborates with WSU University Libraries and C&IT.
  OTL collaborates on the Quick Start Guide.
  Pipeline and online grading introduced at WSU.
2003.  
  Innovative Technology Grants Program established..
2004.  
  Graduate Teaching Consultant Program begins.

 

OTL offers workshops at the Liberal Arts Summer Institute.

New Faculty Detroit Bus Tour sponsored by OTL and developed in partnership with Detroit Orientation Institute (DOI) and Provost Office.
2005.  
  OTL purchases mobile laptop cart for 16 seats to further On-the-Road workshops offered on main campus.
  OTL relocates to the Technology Resource Center (TRC) in the Purdy/Kresge Library (first floor).
  OTL and the Provost’s Office sponsor the first WSU New Faculty Orientation held at the TRC.
  OTL hosts the first speaker series: WSU Innovative Instructional Technology Faculty Grant Awards Presentation .
