The Omnibus Fee was approved by the Board of Governors in 1998 for the purpose of advancing technology and technological services. Students at WSU pay an Omnibus fee each term to "maintain, upgrade, and replace computing and technology resources on campus." In the past, funds were allocated in two ways:
1) funds were first used for ongoing technology commitments on campus, and
2) remaining funds were distributed based on proposals submitted to the Associate Vice President for Computing & Information Technology by faculty and staff.
Currently, awards are made through the Provost Office via the Deans of the Colleges and through C&IT.
